Here Comes Santa!

Jim and I will be visiting our local tailor again this week. Jim needs a new suit -- this time RED! He will be playing the role of Santa Claus at the local orphanage. I know he will be moved when he sees the children open their presents. Our team of volunteers met this week to discuss the party plans. We will have the party on Saturday, December 6th. Now we must all put our efforts into shopping for gifts for the children. It is difficult to consider what to stuff in their gift boxes. A process that must be evaluated when you consider that they will not be able to keep their gifts once the party is over. The options are limited but we will all make a grand effort to give them a wing-ding of a party and celebrate the season!

We have decided to stuff the boxes with fruit, a cookie and small toys. We will make sure the clothes closets are freshened up with new items -but we wanted the gift boxes to all be the same. Maybe we can even take some new footballs, basketballs, etc. to the older boys. We must be careful not to cause too much of interruption in their lives or the school will not be pleased. We have agreed to bring gift bags to the senior adults at the center also. There are about 40 senior adults living there and we have noticed how excited they are to see us visit the children each week. They too are starving for attention.

I will be sure to take pics of the Santa Man and the party for everyone. Please keep us all in your thoughts as we adventure out into the local shops to purchase nice surprises for the children, adults, care givers, and director. The group of volunteers is terrific! We are all very excited about helping to share the Christmas Joy!
